Partner for Better was founded by Kasey in 2022 with three core values at heart: fun, radical love, and equity. What does it mean to live out those values each day? Previously we’ve discussed Embracing Fun and how we show Radical Love, now let’s dive into our commitment to equity. We recognize that equitable access to resources, opportunities, and support is essential for fostering a fair and inclusive society. But what does equity mean to us, and how do we live it out daily? Here’s how we bring this core value to life:
Sliding Scale Rates
We understand that not all organizations operate with the same resources and support. That’s why we offer sliding scale rates based on your organization’s budget, structure, mission, and other relevant factors. This practice ensures our services remain accessible to all sorts of organizations, from grassroots initiatives with a staff of one to established nonprofits with a full team behind them. By tailoring our fees to each client’s unique circumstances, we strive to eliminate financial barriers and promote equity in the nonprofit sector.
Free Information & Connections
Knowledge and meaningful connections are powerful tools for advancing equity. That’s why we’re dedicated to sharing our expertise and building bridges within the nonprofit community:
- Our Blog: A free resource filled with tips, templates, and insights designed to empower organizations to succeed and grow.
- Free Consultations: We offer 30-minute consultations to connect organizations with resources, potential collaborators, and valuable networks. These sessions are a practical way for organizations to access expert guidance and expand their impact without financial constraints.
- Free classes: Join us for several free classes throughout the year via Zoom and in-person, ranging from nonprofit management to yoga sessions. We add new classes each year as we continue to grow our offerings. In 2024, we offered six free classes to the community, more than 100 hours of volunteer time, and $8,500 in donations to 15 mid-Missouri nonprofits.
- The Do Good Collective: We started a nonprofit to bridge the gap between a nonprofit’s ability to pay for consulting services and encouraging other businesses to support nonprofits in building equity and access.
By making information and connections freely available, we aim to break down barriers and foster a more inclusive and collaborative nonprofit landscape.
Community Investments
Equity isn’t just something we promote — it’s something we actively practice through our daily operations. Our commitment to community investment is threefold:
- Supporting Small and Minority-Owned Businesses: We prioritize sourcing our supplies and services from local, small, and minority-owned businesses, contributing to their growth and sustainability. We love our community and we like to make sure our business can stay local whenever possible.
- Reinvesting Profits: A majority of our profits are donated to grassroots organizations in mid-Missouri that advance equity and social justice, ensuring that our success directly benefits the communities we serve.
These actions reflect our belief that equity is not a passive value but a dynamic and actionable commitment.
Equity as a Guiding Principle
Equity shapes everything we do, from the services we provide to the relationships we build and the investments we make. We’re proud to champion a model that promotes fairness and inclusion while empowering organizations to thrive regardless of their starting point.
