About Jessica

A little bit about me.

I’m Jessica Macy, and I believe in bringing together creative & daring groups of people together to make positive social change – and have a little fun!

Jessica Macy

Jessica has worked in non-profits for more than 30 years, starting as a VISTA Volunteer at Communities in Schools in Ardmore, Oklahoma. This first job after college forever changed Jessica’s career path to one of service to others. She has worked with nonprofits of all sizes and scopes – from small and local with modest budgets to multi-million dollar organizations that serve nationwide. Jessica has filled in many roles, including Volunteer Coordinator, Program Director, Development/Marketing Director, Deputy Director, and Executive Director. Using her knowledge of staff/organizational development, fundraising, board engagement, and strategic planning, she aspires to create lasting changes in the community.

In addition to being a co-conspirator for good with Kasey, Board service is also a passion of Jessica’s, giving her the unique perspective of staff and volunteer. She is currently on the board of Heart of Missouri Girls on the Run, a past president of Women’s Network, a founding member and past president of Columbia Evening Rotary, and a past board member at two Federally Qualified Health Centers.

Some of her highlights include:

  • Successfully led over 50 nonprofits through strategic planning, team building, board development workshops, and other types of group facilitation to help nonprofits reach their goals.
  • Orchestrated a merger between two nonprofit organizations to increase access to services
  • Helped raise over $7,500,000 for a capital campaign and organized the largest Hot Air Balloon Festival in Oklahoma.

Who she is as a human.

Jessica lives with her husband, Chris, who she met while in college at Westminster College in Fulton. They have a rescue pup named Louise from Second Chance, but she goes by the name Ousier – after one of her favorite characters in Steel Magnolias. Jessica aspires to represent all the characters in the movie in her lifetime – with the firm belief there is nothing strong than a woman with resolve and her ride-or-die friends. Yes – she also loves red velvet cake and sweet tea. Three years ago, Jessica became a registered yoga teacher with over 200 hours of training. You can usually find her on the mat at least once a week, making yoga accessible and open for every BODY. And whatever space you share with her, we can almost always guarantee a good laugh mixed with a little “zen” southern wisdom.
